Our History

Our Beginning

The Ridpath family has a long history with insurance, serving the New River Valley and communities of Radford and Pulaski County since 1961. Owner Greg Ridpath’s father, Benny Ridpath, was among the first established agents for Nationwide in Radford and was passionate about serving his community with integrity.

The Legacy Continues

Greg shared his father’s passion and became an Associate agent under his father in 1989 after graduating from Virginia Tech. Greg branched out on his own in 1991, continuing the tradition of integrity and superior customer service that he and his father had worked so hard to build.

Today

Ridpath Insurance continues that tradition today. We are a full-service, independent insurance agency that exists to help our members find the coverage protection they need.

Greg graduated from Virginia Tech and became an Associate Agent in 1988. He worked with his father Benny Ridpath for four years before branching out on his own in 1991. Greg continues to uphold the family name with a high level of service to his members. In his free time, you will find Greg spending time with his family and giving back to our wonderful community.

Ethan joined the team as a licensed agent in 2012. He graduated from Radford University in 2015 and now serves our office as Director of Sales and Operations. He enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and his two daughters.
David Ramsey
David RamseyDirector of Sales & Operations, Ridpath Insurance Agency, Pulaski
David joined our team in January 2023 and is the office manager of the Ridpath Insurance Agency of Pulaski, VA. He is a licensed agent with nearly a decade of experience in Life Insurance and also licensed in Property and Causality. David is a resident of Pulaski County and has worked in this area all his working career. He is married to his wife of 34 years, Tammy, and has three children Amber, Jarred and Austin and one granddaughter, Hailey. He enjoys camping with his family and enjoys working on cars in his spare time.

Also known as physical damage coverage, full coverage protects your vehicle against damage caused during an at-fault accident. You are required to carry at least state minimum liability limits, while physical damage is optional unless required by your bank when you finance a vehicle.

Your policy does extend to rental vehicles, but we recommend consulting your agent as some rental vehicles are excluded under policy contracts.

We offer a lot of discounts with many different carriers, but sometimes discounts only get you so far. We provide a comprehensive review each year for all of our members to make sure they are always getting the best rates.
